The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation’s opening of Dawood foundation’s transplant operation theatre complex bookmarked with another pivotal milestone in the journey to becoming leading medical hub of the region. This is the nation’s first Transplant centre that has attained generous contributions and donations by the philanthropists and entrepreneur from Dawood family.

The Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation opened by the help from Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood, the transplant Operation Theatre Complex marked a great pivotal milestone in the journey in becoming the leading hub for medicine in Pakistan. This is nation’s first-ever Transplant Centre that has attained some generous donations and contributions from the philanthropist and entrepreneur, Bashir Dawood & Mariyam Dawood.
After four years of the construction that cost them Rs 1.5 billion, transplant centre officially opened the doors in the year 2018. The building place covers around 250,000 sqft of 14 story building houses with a facility that accommodates around 100 bed that integrates the medical amenities like ICU (Intensive care units), centres for rehabilitation and its equipment, futuristic operation theatre along with donor wards, radiology departments, outpatient clinic and emergency rooms. This was established specifically in order to manage the delicate human organs such as the pancreas, bone marrow, intestine and cornea. Through state of the art medical materials, the SIUT is completely dedicated to pursuing the centralizing of the transplant activities that come under a single roof.
